The problem with our education system

Our country, India, is one of the most engineer producing countries of the world. But when it comes to ideas and innovations, India is not even in the top-50 list.

This, clearly indicates that there is something wrong with our Education System.

We are taught in schools and colleges, we give our exams and get the degree. But, is there any significance of this 'degree’? We must ask this question to ourselves.
Our education system was first introduce by the British government in the colonial India. The British in India were also facing the one problem that usually our young couples face- “Communication problem”. Since Indians spoke many different regional languages, the British decided to introduced ENGLISH in India.
Now, they didn't want creative and genius minds as all they wanted was “clerks”. So, they introduced an education system that kills our creativity and makes us obey all the orders at the specified times (as in a factory) without thinking of anything else!
And, this system is followed even today with no change.
All of us wear the same uniforms, get our time tables and study specific subjects at specific times. (As in factories, workers work and eat at specified time at the ring of bell and wear same uniform too).
And our exams, they just test our skills of “Learning”, rather than “Understanding” and “Practical Applications”. We may pass with an ‘A’ in our exams but we often fail at the exam of Life.
So, the need of the moment is to understand that our exams don’t really matter. All matters is whether we have understood the concept and applied it in our real life or not. After all, ‘Life is the biggest Exam’.
